PEPSI's STORY

Pepsi was born healthy. At 12 weeks small hairless patches began to appear on his body. Soon, his entire body looked like his eye does in the photo above, at left. He was lethargic, and would barely move some days. Pepsi was taken to many vets and specialists throughout New York and New Jersey, including a consultation with the head of dermatology at Cornell University. No one was able to help relieve Pepsi�s suffering.

In an attempt to try and regulate the hormones in his body, it was suggested that he get neutered. Because of Pepsi�s damaged immune system, a Staph infection developed that almost cost him his life. I recall my mom saying through tear filled eyes: �If you can�t hold on Peppy, don�t do it for me.�

After two years of losing hope and shedding tears, he finally began to slowly come around with the aid of 20 or so supplements, including enzymes, to break down the very limited diet he could have.

He was also treated with IV anti-oxidant therapy and ozone therapy, homeopathy, flower essences, glandulars, acupuncture, conventional medicine and even steroids, when there was no other option. We hoped that he was cured at last.

We were wrong. Each year, even during his best days, he had hairless patches, and had a bad reaction to almost everything he touched. His roller coaster ride went on for 7 years. This gentle soul never lost his love of life, nor his desire to be with his family.

Each year, when it would seem that Pepsi was improving, September would come and the cycle of suffering would begin again. When he was six, he lost hair for half of the year. Before it had grown back, it began again. This time it appeared that he would not come back. It seemed as though his body had lost its ability to fight off this terrible affliction.

The look in his eyes had changed. We were almost sure that this was how he would stay forever. Then, a friend who had used System Saver suggested that we try it on Pepsi. I�m not sure what my mom was more afraid of, trying something new on such a hypersensitive animal, or the fear of losing him for good.
